Our Journey to Chanakya...

Sri..

This story is prequel to "HE is back as SHE" which I posted in WhatsApp few months back..

Let me start with this, In summer 2014(May 9th), I tied knot with my soul mate Sowmya at beautiful hill town of Karnataka, Chikkamagaluru  . This is where the story begins..

As similar to almost every new married couple starts their journey.. we also started our journey with simple honeymoon at Kerala(Munnar, alleppey..), Then follows big chores of setting up house to our new journey.

Back in 2014, rents were not sky rocketing as today in Bangalore, We rented 2bhk house near Basava nagar near HAL Bangalore just for 12k 😒

Then as usual life begun, I was employed at one of the biggest smartphone giant "Samsung". Life started going cool.. off course not cool as you think, most of married people know.. how the first year of married life would be :), ego clashes, lack of experience in handling emotional stress. Reactive with family members etc.. We were also not exceptional on this. Big burden we faced was "very often travel to home town", as my hometown is Belur, just 30 odd Km's b/w our hometowns and lots of relative circles, who used to invite us for the dinner as a custom being newly married couple.. I can say our first six months to one year just spent in visiting relatives.

Let me begin with actual topic of this story, that is "Kid". As usual with almost every Indian family, we also started hearing "when you guys plan for kid". As a couple we had a plan to wait for at least one year before planning for kids. But from family side the pressure starting mounting and on the other side, we also started getting diagnosed with fertility issues such as PCOD, one of the modern day lifestyle related issues.

Dealing with PCOD/PCOS:

Of course after getting diagnosed with this fertility issue. We decided that we should start planning for kids immediately and started consulting doctors. Moreover, for people who does not aware of this term "PCOD" , it is a Polycystic Ovarain Disease, It disturbs the women regular menstrual cycle, ovolution cycle, egg quality and ultimately impact on getting conceived.

I can say this is one of the frustrating phase of our life has begun, initially started with allopathy gynecologists, They started giving some hormonal treatments. Couple of months it used to show some improvements in period cycles but again back to same problem. In the mean time, I was also asked to some men fertility related test, I was also diagnosed with "Low Sperm motility", sperm count was good but motility was a issue. But doctors mentioned that "this is not a major problem, as I had good sperm count, if we can improve on my wife PCOD issue, we can achieve the pregnancy".

2014 over, we reached middle of 2015, Then I was already started getting Phd on PCOD from the internet knowledge 😆😆😆. I found that either Homeopathy or Ayurveda works well for PCOS, So We started consulting best homeopathy doctors available at that time, One of the renown doctor was DR BT Rudresh, he was president for Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine.

But we have to take appointment 2 months advance to consult this doctor. Fees were so nominal as 200 bucks. The clinic is in Basavanagudi. Again we took treatment for almost 6 months, it used to show some improvements but again back to same condition.

As this frustration continued, 2016 also started, On my professional side I switched company from Samsung to Radisys, Based on suggestion from one of my senior, We started consulting again one of renown allopathy Doctor in infertilty field, her name is  Dr Sushila shetty. Doctor was great. She started giving nice treatment, but no significant improvements. When you are going through these treatments, there will be follicular study done every month, that is on 10th, 12th and 14th day of menstrual cycle, to monitor how follicles growing,  how ovolution is happening etc.. This is very cumbersome process. As you know, monthly we have to visit doctors, scanning almost 5 to 6 time a month, taking permission from office was tuff task, BTW My wife also started working as contractor at ADA Bangalore, just to keep her engaged and not to think so much on PCOS.

Finally Dr Sushila shetty suggested to go for Ovarain drilling, with the hope that it may improve ovary response to treatments. So on March 2016, My wife undergone laparoscopy surgery. But we were very disappointed that this did not give any improvement at all.

By this time, I was almost about to complete my internet PHD on PCOS, I realized that allopathy treatments not going to really work for PCOS, Again started consulting DR Shanthala Rudresh (homeo pathy doctor), she used to charge 5000rs per month, very costly for homeopathy treatment. But we left with no choice, taken treatment for six months. Again no improvements. 😓😓
